The Confused Sea

An exhibit at the Great Lakes Science Center

A mother is explaining to her young child that the sea waves are formed by wind and certain weather conditions.
At the Great Lakes Science Center in Cleveland, Ohio, participants can reach out and touch a tornado, make a cloud rise to the ceiling, forecast the weather in front of an actual television map while friends watch them on a TV screen, rotate a wind source and see how wind patterns affect the landscapes, and so much more!

Walk through a 15 foot high tornado and play in the clouds. Make a sand dune or an ocean current. Track the weather across the country via satellite images. Discover what makes weather, how satellite systems work, and more at the "Ask a Meteorologist" station. "Our weather exhibit is a visitor favorite," says PR Specialist, Carol Clayton. "Visitors, children and adults alike, are especially captivated by the tornado that they can actually reach out and touch."
